North East Chess League
North East Chess League 2025–26
The North East Chess League brings together clubs from across the region for a season of competitive, over-the-board play. Teams of four players from Stonehaven, Bon Accord, and Aberdeen University compete in a round-robin format from October to April, with matches played under FIDE rules and a 60+30 time control.
The league’s aim is to strengthen inter-club ties, provide regular graded competition, and encourage players of all levels to take part in structured team chess. Each fixture night promises a mix of strategy, tension, and sportsmanship — showcasing the best of North East chess.
