Our latest league match on Monday 3rd February against Castlehill E was filled with chaos, drama, and time scrambles – basically, the perfect content for a GothamChess Guess the ELO video!
The final score was 3 – 1 in our favour, with a default on board 4 giving us an early boost. As for the games that were played…. well, let’s just say Levy Rozman would have had a field day trying to guess our ratings!
My game? A rollercoaster of blunders and brilliance, with evaluation bar swings that Stockfish would struggle to explain. It eventually ended in a draw.
Thomas’s game? A clean extra piece advantage – until it wasn’t. another draw after giving back the material.
Robbie Williamson’s game? Absolute pandemonium. At one point, he was playing with less than a minute on the clock, while his opponent had 20 minutes left! Somehow, he pulled off the win of the night, proving that time pressure is just a state of mind.
A hard-fought match, and a solid result to take forward. If any of our games ever end up on Guess the ELO, don’t say we didn’t warn you!
